The second episode of the\u00a0TG4<\/a>\u00a0series 1916: Seachtar Dearmadta was aired yesterday – it was a story of Con Colbert. It will be repeated on Saturday, 16.11 @ 20.00. Click here<\/a> to watch it online.<\/p>\n

Con Colbert was born in Limerick on October 18th, 1888 and was executed in the aftermath of the 1916 Easter Rising in Kilmainham Gaol on May 8th.<\/p>\n

He was a major player in Na Fianna \u00c9ireann and was also a member of both the Irish Volunteers and Irish Republican Brotherhood. During the Rising Colbert was commander of the F Company 4th Battalion.
\nHe surrendered his unit alongside \u00c9amonn Ceannt on April 30th.<\/p>\n
