The EADH is an organisation which represents and actively supports Digital Humanities projects such as Letters of 1916.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the grant received from the EADH, the Letters\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\">1916\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\">team will organise a community engagement event in Birmingham. The hands-on event will reach out to the Irish community of Birmingham and the surrounding area, to encourage people to get involved in the project by transcribing and contributing their letters.<\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">A vital part of Irish history is the story of the people who went overseas for adventure or a better life, for economic or political reasons, and we want to ensure that the story of Irish emigrants is included in this project. With a large population of Irish or people of Irish descent, who knows how many letters\u00a0 could be uncovered in Birmingham and how many forgotten stories will once again be brought to light.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.4em;\">If you would like any further information, you can contact Frances Mulraney who coordinates the project\u2019s outreach in Birmingham at <a href=\"mailto:frances.mulraney@gmail.com\">frances.mulraney@gmail.com<\/a>.
