target=\"_blank\">The feature<\/a> deals with a <a href=\"https:\/\/letters1916.ie\/diyhistory\/scripto\/transcribe\/441\/1222\" target=\"_blank\">letter <\/a>which was written by\u00a0Joseph Michael Stanley to George Bernard Shaw, dated 28 March 1916. \u00a0The letter details a\u00a0sequence of events commencing with the raid of the offices of the Gaelic Press on Friday the 24th of March.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0The raid and seizure described occur less than a month before the Easter Rising and show that the authorities were undertaking a concerted attempt to break up the small presses.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a
