7 \u2013 8PM TALKS ON THE LETTERS 1916 PROJECT INCLUDING LETTERS OF LOCAL INTEREST:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Bernard Browne<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Bernard Browne is a public servant who has written extensively on aspects of County Wexford\u2019s history. He will speak on Senator Kathleen Browne and her background.<\/p>\n

Gr\u00e1inne Doran<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Gr\u00e1inne Doran is Archivist with Wexford County Council and will speak on some of the documents in the county archive collection pertaining to the period<\/p>\n

Ibar Carty<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Ibar Carty is a well-known photographer from Enniscorthy who is also custodian of the P.A. Crane photographic collection.\u00a0 He will show some images from the collection (relating to the period)<\/p>\n

Prof Susan Schreibman<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Susan Schreibman is the Professor Digital Humanities and Director of An Foras Feasa, the Humanities Research Institute at Maynooth University. She is the Founding Editor of the Letters of 1916.<\/p>\n

Emma Clarke<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Emma is a PhD candidate in Digital Humanities in Trinity College Dublin and is the outreach co-ordinator for the Letters of 1916 project. She will speak about letters from the collection that were written by Voluntary Aid Detachment (V.A.D.) nurses.<\/p>\n

Bring in your family letters written between 1 November 1915 \u2013 31 October 1916 to digitize and add to the Letters 1916 archive.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Letters of 1916 has been awarded a SFI Discover grant from Science Foundation Ireland (SFI)<\/a>. This funding allows the Letters of 1916 project to extend its outreach with four Community Engagement Events in Enniscorthy, Cork, Galway and Belfast in 2015.<\/p>\n
