{"id":7150,"date":"2016-08-02T09:27:59","date_gmt":"2016-08-02T09:27:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/letters1916.ie\/learn\/?p=7150"},"modified":"2018-04-10T14:29:22","modified_gmt":"2018-04-10T14:29:22","slug":"speaking-in-absence-conference-oxford-21-june-2016","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/letters1916.ie\/learn\/speaking-in-absence-conference-oxford-21-june-2016","title":{"rendered":"Speaking in Absence conference | Oxford, 21 June 2016"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently had the opportunity to represent the Letters of 1916 project at Wolfson College, Oxford as a part of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-pistolary.net\/speaking-in-absence\/\">Speaking in Absence<\/a> conference organized by members of the Digital Epistolary Network: Helen Brown, Michaela Crawley and Olivia Thompson.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.torch.ox.ac.uk\/speaking-absence-letters-digital-age\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-7151\" src=\"https:\/\/letters1916.ie\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/speaking_in_absence_conference-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Speaking in Absence\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/letters1916.ie\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/speaking_in_absence_conference-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/letters1916.ie\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/speaking_in_absence_conference.jpg 737w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>The day featured a number of talks, posters, and presentations concerning textual scholarship in the 21<sup>st<\/sup> century.
