{"id":7234,"date":"2016-10-11T15:35:08","date_gmt":"2016-10-11T15:35:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/letters1916.ie\/learn\/?p=7234"},"modified":"2018-04-10T14:28:49","modified_gmt":"2018-04-10T14:28:49","slug":"happy-3rd-birthday-to-the-letters-of-1916-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/letters1916.ie\/learn\/happy-3rd-birthday-to-the-letters-of-1916-project","title":{"rendered":"Happy 3rd Birthday to the Letters of 1916 project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Letters of 1916 project was launched on <a href=\"https:\/\/letters1916.ie\/learn\/index.php\/2013\/09\/30\/launch-of-the-letters-1916\/\">27 September 2013 at the Discover Research Dublin<\/a> event and we&#8217;ve marked the project&#8217;s birthday ever since with an infographic to demonstrate how much the project has grown since 2013.\u00a0(look back at <a href=\"https:\/\/letters1916.ie\/learn\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/LETTERS1916-infographic-092014.png\">2014<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/letters1916.ie\/learn\/index.php\/2015\/10\/13\/letters-1916-project-2-years-old\/\">2015<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>2016 was a big year for the project given that it is the centenary year. We <a href=\"http:\/\/wp.me\/p7mVRO-1AF\">launched<\/a> our <a href=\"https:\/\/letters1916.ie\/explore\/\">Explore<\/a> database in Cathal Brugha Barracks on 2 March to a crowd of over 100 of our supporters, transcribers, volunteers, institutions and families who contributed letters from their prized personal collections.
