Last Saturday, 15 March 2014, the Letters 1916 project team participated in the Genealogy Day in Limerick. The event was organised by the History and Heritage pillar as a part of the Limerick City of Culture 2014 programme.
It was a great opportunity to connect with those interested in family history, Irish history and genealogy. The organisers brought together the historical church registers from several denominations in and around the City: Church of Ireland, Methodist, Presbyterian and Quaker. Limerick Genealogy, Clare Roots Society, and members of the Association of Professional Genealogists in Ireland (APGI) were providing free genealogical help and advice to visitors. And a number of regional historical groups and societies were also there.
It was a very successful event and the place was buzzing! See you next year!
