The Letters of 1916 project was launched on 27 September 2013 at the Discover Research Dublin event and we’ve marked the project’s birthday ever since with an infographic to demonstrate how much the project has grown since 2013. (look back at 2014 & 2015)
2016 was a big year for the project given that it is the centenary year. We launched our Explore database in Cathal Brugha Barracks on 2 March to a crowd of over 100 of our supporters, transcribers, volunteers, institutions and families who contributed letters from their prized personal collections. We have continued to add to the collection since and we are not planning on stopping any time soon.
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT ALONG THE WAY!
